Our ambition
The trailblazer of combined transport and co-founder of the UIRR, we have been providing goods shipping solutions for 50 years in France and the rest of Europe with a smaller carbon footprint by combining road with rail or river transport. In a complex market populated by many players, Novatrans and Greenmodal are combining their long history, their complementary know-how, their respective rail and river networks and their terminals. We work today for the multimodal transport of tomorrow by focusing on 3 priorities:

- Renewal of the fleet of wagons (60’, 80’, 90’)
- Increase in train parameters (1000 metres, 2000 tonnes gross)
- P400 broad gauge
- Modernisation of the barges (ADR approval, Port 2000, ballast)

- Network development of dense, regular and occasional shipments on new corridors
- Optimisation of transit times by increasing frequency

Novatrans and Greenmodal, the leaders in intermodal transport in Europe, share the European Commission’s objective for the “white paper on transport” which plans to transfer to rail and barge 30% of goods transported by road over more than 300 km between now and 2030.
